In preparation for reopening schools, PUSD installed MERV 13 air filters in all classrooms. These filters meet the requirements by Alameda County for schools to reopen, and they provide good quality air filtration. Upgrading our MERV 13 air filters to HEPA is not mandatory, but provides an additional layer of protection by providing hospital/lab quality filtration in all our classrooms.
Parents from the tri-school parents clubs have worked with the PUSD facilities management team to determine the specific HEPA filters that would meet our schools’ needs. We are asking parents to voluntarily support the purchase of these filters so we can gift them to the tri-elementary schools.
