On a recent sunny Sunday morning over coffee and bagels, a dedicated group of parents and kids gathered to weed, clean, and otherwise prepare the campus for the school year. Led by Dads Club chief Padre Eric Meeks, John Gibbs, and Stephanie Pearson, the team of over a dozen focused on the lunch area and edible garden. Work along Lake and Howard added needed homegrown maintenance to the street and lunch slope planting completed earlier this year. John was impressed by the growth of the drought tolerant plants and respect students have given to them by not climbing on the slope. Stephanie, who is helping coordinate the garden program this year, worked with Darrell Smolko to ready the garden classroom for the year of instruction ahead. Thanks again to all who lent a hand. It’s fun work and makes our school look great. We’ll do it again soon so stay tuned!
