And the King of Baja Rock and Roll Is…

The Thingers!

Kirk Markopoulous’ band, The Thingers, came out and rocked the Starry Plough enough to surpass his very talented competitors’ bands: Mark Andrews’ band Xposition, and former reigning champions, Schnittmeister, of Axel Geddes fame. Thank you to Dad’s Club President Jonathan Davis and all of the fathers who helped make this event a reality. This event is a wonderful way to showcase the creative and diverse talent of Beach Elementary parents, and all the while, benefit the schools.

The Beach Dad’s Battle of the Bands featured three rocking bands playing familiar cover tunes and upbeat originals:

  • Xposition (Mark Andrews)
  • The Thingers (Kirk Markopoulos)
  • Schnittmeister (Axel Geddes)

Where: Starry Plough Pub, 3101 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley

The Starry Plough kindly opened its doors to us, for free, and the bands played gratis so this is a great opportunity to have fun, raise money for the Beach Elementary Capital Campaign, and crown the kings of Baja Rock and Roll!
